I have been fortunate enough to have met Kasey. It all started about 2 years ago when I decided to volunteer for Boston Caribbean Fashion Week and ran into Kasey who was also a volunteer. Before I even knew who Kasey really was I wanted to get to know her! She has a very contagious fun energy that makes you want to keep her as a lifelong friend. I tell Kasey all the time that her energy is so motivating that it motivates me to have that same energy when it comes to ideas and building creativity. I tell her "Hey Kasey I'm thinking of doing this..." and her response is always "DO IT!"
A lot of my ideas would not have been possible without Kasey's lively energy and push which I am so thankful for. Due to my appreciation, I can't keep Kasey a secret anymore (even though I want to) (you're not allowed to steal her, you can borrow her) HaHa but on a serious note this is an extremely talented girl, her passion lies in photography which I have greatly witnessed. I will be including some of our collaborations below. I have developed some interview questions for Kasey, thank you for taking the time to read! Meet Kasey Steward...

As a photographer, how would you describe your work?

"My work varies - I do a lot of portraits & street shots but I will photograph anything really. I would characterize my shots as bright, fresh, and colorful."

Why do you think your clients seek you as a photographer?

"I like to think it's because I am relatable - I used to model myself and understand how it feels to be on the other side of the camera. I try my best to empathize. I constantly reflect back, asking myself what i liked and didn't like. Above all, my goal is to make the person I am shooting feel as comfortable as possible- that's definitely the biggest thing."

What kind of work are you currently working on?

"I am currently in the process of planning some exciting projects- I am mapping out my ideas to shoot several themed capsules. At the top of my list right now is a series featuring high fashion, posh, articulate, avant-garde style shots, almost vogue-eq. Girl, I am veryyyy excited for this."

Is photography more of a hobby or a profession for you?

"I would say a little of both- a hobby because I LOVE photography, it is my greatest passion in life and how I channel my creativity as an adult; and a profession in the sense that I take it seriously and am constantly looking to improve my skills and hopefully activate next level opportunities with my work."

What is a usual photo shoot setting for you like?

I like having fun outdoors- playing around with various backdrops; anything from an organic, woodsy, scenic location to urban brick walls & pavement, it really all depends on what the client is looking for."

On a personal note, what kind of photography would you say is your favorite?

Oh my gosh, glad you asked- my absolute favorite genre of photography is editorial! My heart lies with photographic storytelling and all of the beautiful aspects that marry together to create utter works of art. Unexpected props, creative styling, bold poses, mood lighting, and the emotion of the model; all of these factors compose a unique and soul provoking perspective."

Any future surprises in your profession we should keep a lookout for?

Ahhhhh! More Life- so much more to come. I want really focused content and hopefully some interesting collaborations. More Fun, More Beauty, More Intrigue. Stay tuned!"
