Fitness Journey

HI!!

I am finally able to share this post about my journey in fitness and I am so glad to be doing so. Let me start by telling you some background. I have been going to the gym for a while and by a while I mean 2 years but I always last about 2 weeks -1 month of full motivation and then I get lazy (guilty). It’s not a bad thing to get lazy..okay maybe a little but it also is something you have control over. So that is exactly what I started doing, shooing away the “go to bed” voice and the “you have other things to do” voice, I started ignoring it and walking to the gym without even thinking about the “other” things I could be doing. This started around March, what really helped was having my cousin Joyce visit from Arizona and I started going to the gym with her, so it was nice to have a gym buddy to push you, about a week later she had to go back. But I started being so in love with the feeling of taking care of myself on a daily basis. I thought that after she left I would completely lose motivation and go back to my laziness and excuses.
This is when I started giving myself these pep talks to keep going and not let the laziness overcome. Two months later I really started feeling the drive, the urge to be at the gym. The best part is when you see the progress, and then you acknowledge the hard work is paying off.
I had set a small goal, which was to gain weight (# of pounds) in a month, many are familiar with this being called "bulking". On March when I started committing I weighed 97lb and I have always struggled with being small and not getting past 100lb. It’s not an unhealthy issue it just went a lot with not having the proper nutrition source and I also have a fast metabolism. But then I began to do research and learning what macro nutrients are, how to track them, and I had to learn how to cook! (I am still learning haha). Now 2 months later, I weighed myself and I was so excited, probably jumped of glee at realizing I now weighed 107lb with proper nutrition (and some burgers). Many have their own story behind why they have set these goals for themselves and personally I want to grow, not just physically but mentally. It's all a learning process but a fun one!
Now I have decided to enter Katy Hearn's spring challenge. For those who do not know her, she is a CPT mainly known for her amazing pictures on Instagram. She offers these season 8-week challenges and for a long time now I have been wanting to try one because I have seen how much the girls in her challenge transform and achieve, not just physically but confidently as well and it shows! The girls will start the spring challenge April 25th and in 8 weeks we will complete the challenge and you can see my updates on Instagram as well as my final experience here on the blog!

It will take me time to share my progress pictures but I do know it will be beneficial not just for all but for me, to keep track of my progress.

So far I just wanted you to know a bit about why and what I am looking to achieve in this new journey of mine. I am so excited!

To the left is early March @ 97lb & to my right early May @ 107lb

Set small goals and work hard to achieve them, you won’t regret it

  1. Indeed, you did a wonderful work dear and I am very happy that you shared it here. I am also planning to buy new collection of best alo yoga clothing out there. My friend is using those pants and told me that those pants are wonderful to use.
